TRA-C industrie and the Volontaire International Entreprise (VIE) Program Forum 2017 in Roanne
Bruno Voland, CEO of TRA-C industrie presented about TRA-C's activities in the Programs since 2011. To meet a specific need of a customer in Defense sector, TRA-C industrie set up a team between Lyon and Italy, for Italian - French bilingual technical engineer. Then we continued VIE program in Pointe Noire (Congo) for mechanical engineer position, and then in Morocco. “VIE program is very interesting for SMEs companies which want to optimize their competitiveness and expand their activities internationally, while focusing on young people with high potential,” expressed by Bruno Voland
As an active member of EDEN (Cluster de Défense, Sécurité, Sûreté ) – Defense Security Safety Cluster since its formation in 2008, TRA-C industrie has participated in many activities of Defense industry with the group. On 23rd Mar, the Commission of Vehicles and Testings of EDEN came to TRA-C industrie for a meeting and discussion of their projects.
One sample of industry and training school engagement is shown between TRA-C Industrie and école supérieur des arts appliqués (L’ESAA) La Martinière Diderot - Lyon. The two entities have signed a partnership agreement of job opportunity with the product designer students, in which the students will design a range of furniture demonstrators made with Friction Stir Welding (FSW) technology.
In order to do that, TRA-C indutrie's FSW expert explained how FSW was working for those non-technical students so that they can have a general idea of the technology to provide appropriate design solutions.
At the begining of this year, TRA-C industrie delivered our products of industrial footbridges that we manufactured to support the development of bus manufacaturing lines in IVECO factory. This footbridge enables the operation of two buses at the same (above and below) with electronic safety assistance. The whole process were completed by TRA-C industrie from design, production and then know-how transfer to IVECO factory in a turn-key project.

This certification is also extended to the Friction Stir Welding Process, in which TRA-C industrie is proudly to be the first company in France to obtain.
In February, a team of welding experts from AIR LIQUIDE participated in a "turnkey" training course about Friction Stir Welding (FSW) TRA-C industrie. There were two main activities taken place:
Know-how techniques of the FSW machines
Experience and practices of adapting the design stages, fixtures and jigs from traditional welding technology (arc welding, fussion welding) into Friction Stir Welding.
This is one of the important steps of expanding the application of FSW into our engineering and manufacturing industries.
Friction Stir Welding (FSW) Day in TRA-C industrie on 16th November 2016. The participants of the Seminar were companies' decision-makers, engineering and welding experts who all care about innovation in the industry to create the best competive advantages.
Friction Stir Welding technology was presented along with its potential applications in research, machines and productions and then all participants discussed about potential strategies for applying it in industrial processes successfully.
FlexiFab project is comprised of a transnational consortium of ten leading European partners in metal fabrication, of which TRA-C industre is the only French representative. The project’s purpose is to develop a flexible FSW system capable of automatically fabricating complex structures from a range of aluminium alloy grades and thicknesses in the transport sector.
On the 31st October 2016 FlexiFab project has finished when it has achieved its stated goal, providing clear advantages for SMEs aiming to achieve accurate robotic friction stir welding (FSW). After three years of research, the partners are able to develop an automated robotic system to enable welding of aluminium components and parts, which provides key competitive advantages to the (SME-dominated) European metal workers and fabricators, by providing a cost-effective method of fabricating aluminium structures.
Details of the Project's achievement can be found at http://www.flexifab.info/publications.
